Well that was fun....,

Spent the last 4 days down on the Oregon coast.
Rented a little place right on the sand, to celebrate her birthday, just us and the dogs.
Very pretty place, tho if rain, over twice as much as we get a year at about 100 inches (there).
The beaches are wide and the sand very fine.
Fact is it's the first time either of us have driven in the beach...
That was fun, 4 wheel drive a must, her little Honda HRV all wheel drive just floated in the soft sand, very impressed.
I think they have even bigger crabs and more, than what we have here....
The beach was littered with dead ones, as were the razor clams.

Good times, great company.
Great vacation spot if you are looking for somewhere new to visit.

I have many fond childhood memories of vacations along the Columbia River Gorge and Astoria south to Seaside. Smiley

My wife and I want to get down to Oregon soon. Its not too bad of a drive from Bellingham, WA. But it would definitely be over a few days. The beach there looks much more friendly then the WA coast!

The beach is great compared to our coast.
Yes, 4 days would be a minimum amount needed to enjoy it, as 2 of those days would require over 300 miles driving for you.
Take a week, drive down 101 along the hood canal, or over on the Olympic coast, and over that bridge at Astoria, then keep heading south to any beach that catches your fancy.....
Really isn't a bad choice  Grin
