Shayna looks like she's going to be hard to beat in the singles class.

You might be right about the Indians. The new Harleys aren't quite there yet, I don't think.

There are some fast Kawasaki's out there though. And I wouldn't count Halbert on the new Yamaha out either.

With the new format this year you can't just win a heat and go straight to the main. All those bikes have to run a lot of laps to get into the show. Might be some attrition.

If I had to bet my money would be on Baker. He's had some bad luck lately and he's got a reputation for being hard on equipment, but if his Indian is up to the job he's going to be right up there.

This Friday night they will be at Lodi Cycle Bowl in Lodi CA , a track I raced at many times , many top racers came from that area ,Chris Carr being one of them. It's the Mecca in this area for flat trackers.

This Saturday night is the Legendary Sacramento Mile

Hope you watch them both Oldnslow Lodi Friday & Sac Saturday both on fanchoice!!!

That singles race was great. Shayna Texter is the real deal. I watched(on Fanschoice) a mile a couple of years ago when she was riding in the twins class. She was on one of the Triumph twins that was running that year. In her heat race, about three quarters of the way down the back straight that thing developed a front end wobble that scared the sh*t out of everyone watching. She never shut off till she got to the corner. I don't know how she stayed on. Did it every single lap in that heat. Her team got it mostly under control for the LCQ. Or maybe they just told her to slow down.

She didn't get that bike into the Main.

There is a half mile on July8 this year that is only a little more that an hours ride from home that I'll be going to. I can't wait. I think it's really great that Fanschoice has been streaming these races for a few years but nothing compares to being there.

I grew up in the Bay Area so the San Jose Mile was a must do every year and then Sacramento too! The past few years they have had a 1/2 mile in Stockton but I keep missing it.

Always some great racing at Lodi Cycle Bowl. They have been racing at Lodi since 1953. When I was growing up they would race on polished concrete in the Cow Palace , Mert Lawiill & Dickk Mann & Kenny Roberts as a Rookie
In later years it was a dirt track at Fremont Raceway/Baylands Raceway but it closed back in the 1990s.

This coming weekend should be interesting. The singles are running on a TT track on Saturday instead of running the mile on Sunday. Very different kind of race. Shayna has candidly admitted that she doesn't like TTs, so Saturdays race is going to be a challenge for her. I won't be surprised to see some new faces on the podium.

Keep an eye on Tanner Dean #138 in the singles class for the rest of the season. Just turned pro. Sacramento was his very first time on a mile. Won the singles LCQ. Finished 11th in the main.

It is amazing that Lancaster Honda sponsors Shayna and Don's Kawasaki in Hellem, Pa sponsors Cory.
