For all the money spent on political campaigns, the monetary reward for who back the winner must be staggering.

Everything always boils down to money.

The return on investment is around 500 fold.  That's how the corporations do it.  They buy the Congress and in turn get MASSIVE tax breaks.  It's laughably obvious.  Good old citizen's united!
