wheel rim

I am thinking of getting an alloy rim 16" x 2.50", firstly can anyone see any problems with this? I have longer rear shocks than stock so I dont think there will be any issues with the mudguard but what would be the best size tyre so that it clears the swinging arm without rubbing or interference, thanks in advance
