After work, I pulled the cover and found the pulley slightly loose, so I tightened the nut & put the cover back.
How loose is OK for the drive belt, anyway?
You have the beginning of a problem.
Your splines have a little gap between them that allows the pulley to work back and forth against the shaft.
Oldfeller has a remedy in the tech section to fill in the gaps.
But I'd look and the splines and determine which is wearing... the shaft or the pulley. The pulley is easy to replace, the shaft isn't and it's hard to find the right one.
