I'm running an 18" on mine in place of the stock 15". I did have to modify the swingarm to clear the tire.

What size tire are you running?  A 130/70-18 will fit without modifying the swing arm for clearance.....some of the larger diameter tires like a 4.00-18 may be too big.

The front Kawasaki pulley requires moving the rear axle all the way forward and will reduce tire clearance - the double pulley conversion moves the axle all the way back and provides more tire clearance.

I modified the swingarm. Moved the arc of the old brace forward, and added a second brace.

Dave I still can't PM so I found your email (thumpinspecial) and sent you a comprehensive one, so if you don't see it check your junk box or give me another Email and I'll resend it.

Thanks,
Vernon

I got this pulley installed and it works great.  After a recent carb recalibration our LS650 was begging for another gear on the highway.  I have had a Dave's Cool Stuff pulley on hand for over a month then we got slow on a cold day so I went ahead and put it on the bike to keep busy.  It went just as described with slight clearancing as needed, only a little tricky getting the pulley slid on the output shaft as the belt was just getting snug.  A little light pressure from a prybar and some patience and it went right on.  I had to wait a few days for weather that allowed a ride but it was sweet.  It no longer seems rushed to get through the gears.  Each gear takes a little time at normal accelleration to go through and carrys more speed.  It's a much more natural feel much like my V4 Magna.  Each gear now has it's own purpose in life instead of tripping over each other.  60 MPH+ is more relaxed, bigger bike feel that was missing before.  I don't have the rear pulley changed yet but I'm working on that, but just the front alone is very worthwhile.  In short I love this mod and give a big thanks to Dave for developing it and then offering it to the rest of us.  I highly recommend it to any Savage owner.

How long is the usual turn-around from start to finish (shipping and installation not included)?

Got the pulley today and installed in just under an hour with the help of Stewmills instillation guide, an electric impact and ratchet.  Only takin it for a small cruise so far, but the results were nice.  Can’t wait to try it out at highway speeds!

You won't be disappointed. 5th gear is now an "overdrive" gear that you really don't use unless you are going 55mph+ on the highway...and you'll be cruising at 70mph without noticing.

Dave will tell ya shortly.  He will let you know what he has in stock and give you his paypal info via PM or email. It isn't "published" here as far as I know.

If you need my instructional pics for the install let me know.  That thread was messed up when tinypics shut down and I haven't revived the pics there on that thread yet.

UPDATE:  Fixed my instructional images.  Should be all set here:
