Cam chain should I get a new one
03/18/17 at 15:21:14

My bike is a LS400 it's dun 60,000km (37282 miles)
I'm mid way through oil change and cam chain inspection.
I will be getting a new cam chain tensioner
What I want to know is, should I replace the chain as well?
If so is there a guide to doing this?
(I don't know when it was last dun)

Do you know it's the chain that stretches to cause the adjuster to extend?

So, either a modified adjuster or a new chain not necessarily both.

You need to get a price off Verslagen for his modified adjusters and the $NZ $US exchange rate and shipping, These adjusters are professionaly made and finished. These can extend the life of the chain, the NZ price of a chain and tensioner should also be checked.

What will those blasted, British trained, tax vulture people try to charge you for a Versy mod?

It should be pennies. But I don't think so. :'(

Kiwi rider has to sort tax, imports under $NZ 400 were  tyax free but a revenue hungry government is rying to change this so that 15% GST applies to all purchases off shore.

For a number of years, for people in the, UK, DK, GR,
They would order new tools, (From the USA, via internet, pay with CC), and have then sent to me, (in the USA)

When I would get them, take them out of their factory packaging,  smear a little grease/oil on them, repack them in paper, and include a invoice, for,  ‘Used Tools”, and 2.00- 3.00 - 4.00, and ship.

300-400.00 of New tools, suddenly reduced to, ‘Used’  tools, cost 30.00 +/-

Then send the paper that came with them, in a  envelope.

Perhaps  try that ?  Don't know why that wouldn't work with  'parts' also.

(Oh, Leaned how to do that from a  person named,  Clinton)
