Just went on a bit of a search mission after viewing the suggestions here and I ended up getting an adapter with a flexible mid section.
Just got delivered now and it is very high quality with a top quality rubber mid section. The fixed metal ones look like they could put a bit of unnecessary stress on the valve if you're not careful.

That seems sensible. I did notice the rigid one didn't play too nice with the gas station air hose (then I also discovered that the pressure gauge on the hose was wrong anyway...so...)
For the time being, only needing to add a few PSI to get back to spec, a bike floor pump is fine and has a flexible hose, but one of these flexible extenders seems like and obvious choice to throw in the toolbox.
