Lagoon Motordome - Ludlow, KY

At work this morning, I was using Google Maps to help me identify the location of inlet boxes on a street. As I was moving over the area, I saw a flag for historical marker for the Lagoon Motordome. I never that there was something like that in the area.....it looks like is had a troublesome time.

I tried to post a link to the Google Search - but it did not work. You can do that and got to the "image", and get some cool photos of th place.
The Lagoon track articles are included on this website:

Those wooden track racers had balls, courage and no fear. Unfortunately, not many had long lives either. The competition between the motorcycle manufacturers and the privateers was intense and cut-throat. Not an easy way to make a living.

Cool pictures, too bad the board track is gone now. One of the most refined, intelligent, gentle, religious and soft spoken gentlemen I ever knew was an early Harley flat track racer. He was an older engineer when I knew him and I had no clue that he had ever ridden a motorcycle until I attended his funeral and saw the pictures of him with his racer and gear.
