So I Googled it, the ones sold here are $NZ 200 000 and need a small nuclear reactor to make them work. Google Jaycar electronics to see a description.

I just ordered one, and it instantly emailed me wit tracking and shipping details and said it was delivered 30 years ago. Bizarre!

While the subject line date of November 12, 1955 is close, I would argue it should be February 19, 1955. The reason being that the the whole "flux capacitor" term has it origins in the much-publicized crash of TWA Flight 260 that crashed into the Sandia Mountains east of Albuquerque on November 19, 1955. The cause was ultimately attributed to a faulty "fluxgate compass" (after much controversy and numerous investigation revisions by the CAB).
I hiked to the sight of the crash a few years ago. It's about 9,000 feet up in a canyon where the remains fell following the impact with a sheer face of rock. The only thing puzzling to me was the presence of 3 engines when the Martin 4-0-4 is a 2 engine bird. More than you wanted to know I'm sure. But all in the interest of cinematic trivia.

So......I get one of these, and a DeLorean, and a few hours of wrench work in the garage......can I go back to 1969 and find my lost youth?

k. The only thing puzzling to me was the presence of 3 engines when the Martin 4-0-4 is a 2 engine bird.

That's a noteworthy detail.

Why would anyone want to find their lost youth?
