Cover for bike?
03/05/17 at 11:16:16

This should be a super simple question and sorry if it's been covered but I wasn't sure what search term to use as "cover" brought up a wide range of topics none of which seemed to be about weather covers for our bikes.

I unfortunately rent and do not have access to a garage or covered space to store my bike so I try to use a cover as often as possible. The cover that the previous owner purchased and gave to me is falling apart so I'm in the market for something new but I'm not really sure what size to get. do have a small windshield on the bike.

Do you guys have any suggestions on brands/sizes?

This seems like a good deal but will a medium be big enough? https://www.revzilla.com/product/nelson-rigg-deluxe-all-season-cover

I use the weatherall plus, on my GS500 with a top box. Not sure which one would fit the S40 but if you find one that fits you won't get better quality.

I use these.  Fits well and lasts about a year... mine is outside all the time too.  Had one rip at a seam and they sent a new one no questions.

Actually comes down almost too the ground with a windshield.

Be aware, wind Can blow a bike over with the cover catching all that wind.

I guess my question is why? You live in Seattle,so it can't be to keep the paint from fading ,the sun is only out 4 days a year  Smiley A cover is a double edged sword, if you buy one that's waterproof ,it keeps the rain off but also traps the humidity in causing rust .as JOG stated it can act like a sail and tip the bike over and wind moving it about can scratch paint and your windshield . Unless your using it as a form of security you might be better off waxing the bike and calling it a day.

Nothing wrong with figuring out a rain shield for the switches and stuff on the bars.

You can also get a half cover... covers the top half, but not the tires.

Motorcycle Miniskirts, I didn't know they made them.
A cover that doesn't get to the exhaust means you wouldn't hafta wait for the exhaust system to cool off, as long as it's not on the header.
