Bobber seat pan ideas - on the cheap
02/26/17 at 17:04:37

Looking for some ideas to pad my raw metal seat pan. I don't really want to pad and cover it because I prefer the raw rusted look. I have an idea of some stick on pads....Maybe covered in brown leather or vinal. Something that comes in different sizes, like long rectangular and kidney shaped...Kinda like those ergonomic pads people have at their computers, but on a much smaller scale. I don't want something "trimmable" because I want the edges to be finished. Basically I want to strategically place them for comfort while leaving the majority of seat untouched.

I am asking you all for ideas as I have reached the end of the internet. Found some very interesting things in my search, like the fact the women can now purchase stick on butt pads for under their pants. Who knew Huh

Anyone got ideas?

Think about it for a minute.  You need padding because of the pressure points. What if you modified the pan to fit your butt, kind-of like those form fitting bicycle seats (see pic). This may be hard to do and may take away from your desired look, but the more form fitting the seat is the less padding you can get away with and not feel like you are sitting in a concrete block.

Good luck...

Ha! I guess I just have a thing for comfort? Maybe?  I did have some colon issues recently (all checked out and 100% well now) so maybe deep down I have some secret affinity to being easy on the buns and all that are associated with them  Shocked Shocked Shocked
