Heated grips stopped working...

My son in law recently bought a used VL800. The PO said the heated grips were working, then stopped.

No problem, probably a fuse (heated grips will go through fuses).
Nope, fuse checks out.
Well, probably a loose connection to the battery - nope, both leads are snugged down nice and tight. Oh, wait....

Why does the wire going to the negative terminal have the "MEDICAL ALERT" attached to it? Huh

You're not going to get much power to your grips when attached ground to ground.
