One reparation from Spain.
01/17/17 at 02:13:08

Hello from Toledo-Spain.

Three months ago I had a  traffic accident thanks to a nice lady who jumped a STOP and also went out where she should not.

Fortunately, I did almost nothing. Although it could have cost my life. The fall was clean and I only scratched myself.

My poor  bike did not go so well....

Front hit with the results you can see.

The issue with the insurance has taken a while to resolve but finally the thing has gone well and I have been able to fix the motorcycle myself with the money they have given me for the accident.

First, the bike to the dino and disassembly of the whole front.

State of bars ...

These are two bars of second hand in good condition that I bought on the internet ...

Here, making a special "tool" of homegrown to be able to loosen the damper rod of the new bars and to be able to update them. The tool consists of a steel rod with a nut welded at one end.
Above all, simplicity. That bastards from the Suzuki sell you the useful but for a thousand euros ...

A little polish and a bit of varnish to brighten up the subject ...

And here, dismantling the tracks of steering bearings.
It is not a very orthodontic way to say how to disassemble some tracks, but as they were going to put new ones, because I quickly manage with what I have at hand, I give to the coconut and I prepare a system of extraction consisting in a piece of sprouting that excels Below the steering pipe and a rod that salted with two dots to the track. A hammer underneath the tail of the iron and out ...

The old tracks were already a little waterfalls ...

And now a work accident

The thing happened when the piston of the brake caliper was removed. I did not go out. And suddenly, I remembered reading that I could take out compressed air. I did not trust it too much but I tried.

HOSTIAS THAT IT WAS OUT !! But at a speed you nuts and without giving me time to remove the finger from the back !!.
How painful...

I was already in the emergency room with the clamp hanging from my finger. And with the amputated finger.
Luckily I could react despite the intense pain and put the piston in the back with the tail of the hammer ... Tongue

And this is how it goes. The other day I went to try it and the truth is that it goes very well. I do not know if I give myself kisses myself or think that I have been lucky and I have not screwed up when it comes to riding things ...

Nice job , next time you remove caliper piston put it in a pile of rags point it down and apply just a tiny amount of air, I recall doing that too years ago !

All you Really needed to do was remove the front wheel, loosen the triple tree, spin the tubes, lock it all down and
.voila! Instant chopper!

Nice job ! but be careful ,you need to ride like your invisible ,you might need to keep your hands over the clutch and brake when coming to an intersection so you have a chance to stop if a car doesn't see you.Glad your not hurt!
