I thought I had a basic understanding of the Savage engine until I encountered these pics. I don't recognize the head configuration. Is this some kind of "cover"? Or am I just revealing my ignorance? Help me out here.
And perhaps this bike's been posted here before. But I will say, when it comes to a retro/vintage look, these guys nailed it. It would seem to epitomize Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's famous quote “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” Not often we see a Savage that originates from the heart of Moscow.

That's a GR650 engine.
the pulley cover is different and so is the head cover... cover.

Me thinks the pulley cover was just ground down on the back side to make the new shape, and the head covers have been as well.
I may have sold some engine parts to the owner/s.

My apologies for not adding their website. Sounds like another is in the works. Here's to hoping you'll be shipping a few more parts Lancer.

Should have done a bit more research. It does appear this is the Tempter 400 engine. Curiously, they list it on their website as being the 650 engine when in fact the bore and stroke listed are for the 400 engine. Which is consistent with the bore and stroke of another of their bikes using the Tempter 400 engine. Mystery solved. That said, I do prefer the look of the 400's drive sprocket cover. Thanks for the help.

The Temptor head cap covers are most likely a direct swap for the chrome head cap covers on the Savage.
The Temptor pulley cover is too narrow for the belt drive - but would probably work with a chain conversion. It also appears the swingarm, shock mounts and chain guard are not sticking out like they do on the belt drive Savage.
(I really like the Temptor).
