A small wire brush would work, if you have one. Some sandpaper, a paper towel, and some isopropyl alcohol would also do the trick. The idea is to clean it, then to scrape off any corrosion, and expose new metal at the point they make contact.
After cleaning with alcohol, 5-10 seconds of brushing or sanding is good enough.

Cool, I have all that on hand. Are grounds usually visually corroded or just microscopically gunked up? Probably just good practice to clean all grounds occasionally? Are they obvious? Looking at schematic I see these grounds:
1) ignition coil
2) starter
3) battery
4) neutral switch

Any other grounds to be aware of? Many thanks, sorry for all the questions...

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but, the ground wiring is all apart of the main wiring harness? The schematic makes them seem like they're almost a part of the major components I listed.

Get yourself a tube of dielectric grease and as you inspect the connectors , clean them & apply some to the connectors.

A schematic is a diagram of electron flow. Twenty grounds on the diagram may all be handled by one ground connection. The main one is where I would start. If ANYTHING works Right that would indicate that either the battery connections are good or at least good enough to carry That amperage. A ground can look good and even check good with a meter. The meter doesn't require much current. Start demanding that twenty amps pass and that creates heat, which increases resistance, which creates heat.
If you can Safely ( don't fry the ignition ) operate the headlight and signals, and feel for anything warm that should not be warm,, that can help track something down.

IDK what all doesn't work if the ignition isn't plugged in.

Hill S. while it's true that most things are grounded through the wiring harness,they all lead back to the battery ground clamp (that needs to be clean and tight) the sparkplug,starter motor, and neutral light switch ground through the motor block to the heavy wire near the oil sightglass, then to the battery (-).clamp........do you have stock turn signal lights or after market? Are they duel filament bulbs?
