Tocsik,
I think you can see in the pictures that Todd James posted how it is fastened.
He did a really good job. I wanted to use his mounting method, but I had already cut my risers down to 2" so I didn't have enough space to fit the tachometer with his mount.
I used the Ryca mount, which is awful pricey.

There are only three things I can find fault with the S40... no Tach, speedo on the tank, and no trip meter. Very minor issues.
