Wow.....that is only 99 pounds bigger than the one you caught in my pond.

Do they still taste good when they get that big?

That fish would feed us for a month!

If the fish survived being caught , snapped some pics and I would have put him right back in the water, only take what you can eat , don't waste natures gifts!

I betcha that one would make him some pretty loud "croaking and mewling" sounds while MM was a busy filleting him ....  jest grab him by the eye sockets so he can't roll on the cutting board and fin you.    As far as staying alive, you can't kill them, not by driving a knife through their noggins, or cutting off half of their fillet --- a few hit the gut sack still flapping their side fins a tiny bit.

It is December, officially the Mid-Winter time of year zone --- time to start making up them fictitious trips that we think might be neat to go do next summer.   After all, last year we really did most of them ......

Each of you has gotta pop forth ONE IDEA, it doesn't have to be fully cooked --- just potentially tasty.

Them's what have farms need to do the invite thing if they wish to be invaded again next year.

My contribution is:   a 3-4 day weekend (late spring early summer time frame) trailer based trip to a campground, Kickstand or Blue Ridge (preference goes to Kickstand as they require no reservation, have no awkward rules and are a little cheaper on the pocket).

Roll Eyes

.... next offering please .....

While we are planning  :

any one of ya'll headed to a ride , who needs an overnight spot near southern middle TN. , can camp in my 10 x 22 - air conditioned rock house/garage (one couch and chair) ,  or tent in the yard .   Then we can go on to the ride the next day.  There is plenty of parking space , and the Dragon is only a 5-6 hour ride east of here on  "River-Road" type 2 lane black-top .
I might need the same if we go to the "Black-Hills" or a similar ride .

So :
Anybody going to Daytona in 2017 ?

Smiley

You mean this one?

http://www.daytonabeach.com/events/motorcycle-rallies/bike-week/

Sounds like a Barcalounger trip to go down to visit Old_Rider and run around in Florida a bit before the rest of the country warms up worth a poot.

Smiley    OK, MM has invited us to come see him.    Wink

I can verify he has good digs for us to stay in, complete with a game room no less.   If the people count goes high enough, he has tent space to pitch one or two to handle the overflow.   He has a fire pit similar to the Dragon/Blue Ridge set ups and he has a bongers size grill to cook on.   He has a shooting range.

Main question becomes "when" ???   When is the dry season up on your mountain?

To keep up with the ideas I am reposting what I see as good trip ideas back up to the sticky up above.   Once we get everyone's "one good trip idea" recorded then we can start date sorting and reality sorting according to who really wants to do what.

Now, since it is all new to us, pick a good spot to stay at and say a date that has generally good weather associated with it.

Hay Springman and anybody else ...

I stayed at Iron Mountain campground last summer , its in South-West Arkansas (just a few miles from Oklahoma).  The camp site was cheep and the showers hot enough , it't a nice place.    The CMA is having an event there :

  Arkansas: March 30-April 2, 2017
Location: Iron Mountain, Hatfield, AR  www.cmausa.org
Indoor and outdoor camping available on Iron Mtn.
Motel: Ozark Inn $44.95 plus tax (two beds add $5.00)
ATVS / Quads: YES
ORV / OHV sticker required: No
Team Lead: Charles McCool, chili.mac@hotmail.com  479-495-0721

http://www.cmausa.org/cma_national/fast-lane.asp

Everybody is welcome and there is "So-Much-Room" ...  Shocked

We could stay at the camp ground , do day rides all we want , and enjoy their nightly entertainment if we please.
Being a member I could pre-register , then have all the guest I want !   Cool , non members are always welcome , free of charge !  If ya want a beer at your campsite , just remember is a "Family environment" but its OK.  Wink
Also they serve meals but ya need to pre-buy tickets so they know how many to cook for (fair-enough) , its cafeteria style , like college or military type.

If anybodys interested I'll verify the details and see if the wife will let me go !  Grin
