Gravel/metal/dirt roads are like lane splitting, I do it if I have to. She used her expertise to give the bike a good review.

I hardly ever use my speedo anyways. I know how fast I'm going by the sound/feel of the engine. Since the speedo is impossible to use safely with a FF helmet, I've developed my own technique to know my speed.

I have a bar-mounted tachometer.

Speedo in 1st gear is useless, and in 2nd gear is pointless, and once you're opening up the throttle in 3rd or 4th looking down is downright dangerous.

3000 rpm in 3rd gear is 60km/h, 4000 rpm is   80km/h (35+ and 50mph)
3000 rpm in 4th gear is 75km/h, 4000 rpm is 100 km/h (45+ and 60mph)

I'm happy with that and seldom, if ever, top beyond 100km/h (60mph) anyway.
