I've seen that video. I was wondering if she found the 1st 4 (and I assume N as well), how'd she miss 5th? Oh well, I've made dumber mistakes!  Grin

One of the best colour schemes the S40 ever had. She didn't pay much attention to the compulsory stop sign. I general terms I only look for sixth on long flat roads when I'm at reasonable speed, still looking.

I don't think she's ever been here.
She bought her owners manual from fleabay when she coulda got it here free.
and she takes it to the stealership for service.
or at least complained about the squeaky brakes which we would told how to fix for free.

One thing that a beginner needs, but that the Savage LACKS is a tachometer.  ( Easy to learn when to up shift and when you want to down shift to prevent lugging).

You get Tachs off Ebay, and they're not unduly expensive, while some advocate they're not necessary on an S40, I enjoy using mine.

I would rather have a tach than speedo, I might ditch my speedo for a tach
I don't think its correct anyways !

I hardly ever use my speedo anyways. I know how fast I'm going by the sound/feel of the engine. Since the speedo is impossible to use safely with a FF helmet, I've developed my own technique to know my speed.

That video almost makes me angry. There's no "dealer trick" for finding 5th gear. She's almost completely distracted by the process of finding something that is just "there".

I have so many evil things to say...but I'm behaving for the holidays.

Yeah, I don't want to speak badly of someone I don't enough about, but it seems strange you wouldn't just find 5th gear by normal use.  Occasionally on the highway I'm not sure if I've gone to my highest gear so I pull in the clutch a little and press up on the shifter.  Scary there's folks out there riding who don't know enough about their bikes.  Like how many gears it has  Huh

to someone who sounds like she's lugging it thru the gears, finding 5th can't be very important.
