Too much clearance in all of them so better to replace them all, valves and guides. Springs were good, that's the good thing. The exhaust valves are quite expensive, hope they last another 30000 miles  Wink

Sodium filled? That's interesting.

DR valves are much cheaper for some reason, any experience if those would fit?

LS650 12911-24B01 and 12912-24B01
DR650 12911-12D00 and 12912-37400

The exhaust guides seem to be same as in DR500 and the intake guides the same as DR750 and DR800  Huh

That's for cooling. Are ours sodium filled? I wouldn't think so.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Even if they fit perfectly, NOT using the stock valve is begging for disaster, unless they are the same material or one that is More able to handle heat. The exhaust sphincter on the Savage needs a lot of work to get the hot gasses past.

I was wondering if they are the same exact part with a different parts number.

I guess anything is possible. When I was doing autobody repair we put countless Buick or some such fenders on Cadillacs.
Exactly the same part, different number, bunches of dollars less.
It's worth looking into if it's time to replace them.

Spend a little time with google yesterday and saved over 100$ on valves.

I found a Japanese company called Vesrah, they manufacture valves for our bike. They're not that easy to find, sold out almost everywhere.

http://catalog.vesrah.co.jp/list/product_parts.asp
The GG-3031-IN / -EX are for Savage http://catalog.vesrah.co.jp/catalog/shape/GG-3031.html

Some dealers list it suitable for Savage and DR650 90-95  Shocked

I had seen the Vesrah brand before.....I thought it sounded like the parts came from India.

I am curious how the quality would compare to the stock valves.....you don't want the top coming off!

I looked in your Vesrah catalog link, and the DR650 valves for the 1996-2015 DR650 have thinner stems (5.5 vs. 7.00 mm), and the overall length is different.  Vesrah doesn't list the DR650 valves for the 1990-1995 DR650 which could be the same, as they do use the same camshaft style and the valve guides are the same - however the part number for the valves are different in the Suzuki parts list.  The price for the DR650 exhaust valve is listed as $57.34, and the LS650 valve is about $ 11 higher....not a huge difference.

We'll see when I get those valves, 5-6 weeks for delivery and I have to go and pick them up from our neighbouring country Grin

Someone suggested that Vesrah makes Suzuki valves, too  Roll Eyes

Versa makes a lot of valves and other parts for all makes and models of Japanese bikes but I cannot confirm from my parts catalog that we have common valves between the DR (90-95) & LS.
