Yeah, small displacement are making a comeback. It's about time. It's mostly been in the 300cc class and I look forward to more offerings in the 300 to 600 class. But here is where the OEM's will completely F' it up; they will continue to offer these bikes with budget components. There are a few that see the market for high-end small displacement bikes (KTM & BMW), but the Japanese manufactures still equate displacement with features. For once I'd like to buy a bike and not have to start modifying to replace the crap that Suzuki/Honda/Kawaski/Yamaha have bolted to it.

A 418 pound Kawasaki 250....a 374 pound BMW 310?

Sounds a bit bulky to be a "small bike" the way I remember them.

Like to see a naked version of that , without the bodywork , loose 20 to 30 lbs and lowered somewhat !

Yamaha SR400 384 lbs , air cooled , still a little porky

Liquid cooled will always be heavier

This is why we build our own bikes to personalize to our size & vision of what a motorcycle should be and what it should be capable of !

The larger bikes are also being priced more and more out of the market.
