Reply #9 - 10/24/16 at 07:31:56 I've given consideration to getting a 250/350 class street-legal dirt bike. If I come across a "like new" one for half price some day I suspect I'll do it too . NO liquid cooling --- no need for screaming HP , just kin to an old Honda XL350 / Yahama DR series or the like.

Holy crap! I want one of those too!!!!!!!!

Went out with a friend yesterday and rode his KTM 250s for a bit. First time in probably 25 years I have been on a "dirt" bike. Fun, but definitely a different feeling letting the front tire track around in the dirt and grooves and feeling the rear fishtail around. Once I got used to it I was ok, but the first few minutes felt strange coming off of street bikes. The only scare I had was when the engine died coming around a left-hand turn on the dirt road. When I downshifted and let out the clutch the rear tire locked up and sent me sliding through the corner so I quickly counter steered and just went with the slide not quite sure yet what had happened. Luckily I have been goofing off on my mountain bike (bicycle) lately so I was sort feeling ok with the slide. Half-way through the slide I engaged the clutch to get the rear rolling again and got the bike back upright and under full control, popped the clutch, and zoom zoom went the engine and away I went...with only lightly soiled pants. Shocked
