Oil filler cap

I have an 06 s40, with a plastic filler cap, and it appears the o-ring is deformed (almost has a tapered face because of how it fits) this o-ring should have a round profile like any other ring, am I right? If so would it be acceptable to flip said ring around, to put the work part towards the top of the cap?

I have a new one coming from suzuki, but for the time being this should be okay, right?

I only say this cause it's plastic and under any circumstances could not harm the block.

....right?

Posts: 18099 Camp Springs, Kentucky Gender:	Re: Oil filler cap Reply #1 - 10/21/16 at 12:40:43 It is round in profile when it is new - but heat and pressure deforms it over time....and ultimately it gets stiff loses some flexibility. Flip it over if you want...it won't hurt anything. And if you have a good hardware/plumbing/auto store near you -you most likely can find a $ 0.35 replacement.

I have done business with this company for dozens of years (I was a purchasing agent in a manufacturing firm) and have never had one bad experience!
