Sorry for my SUPER delayed response. Life has been insanely busy lately and I haven't had time to jump online.

Not sure where the crud is coming from. I don't believe it is the inside of the brand new tank. I don't believe it is the new gas line either.
The crud inside the carb appeared to be the tiniest of metal shavings (seriously, they made glitter look big.)
I have three ideas.
1. When I was cutting things off to do mods, I didn't do a good job of taping things off, so it is possible that some shavings found their way in there from that.
2. I have no idea what the previous owner did and don't know if there are issues from him.
3. HOPEFULLY NOT, but possible that my pistons are rubbing...
Now that winter is here, I should have more time to work on it and find the cause of the problem. However I do not have a good work space do so without freezing my little fingers off...

SO we will see...
