The 2006 fuel tank should fit just like the original tank.
While you are changing the tank it would be a good idea to install a Raptor Petcock.

All tanks from '86 to '17 are the same and will fit.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

I thought about that before I posted. But they DO fit, right?

They all fit - but if you have a CA bike and need to keep the plumbing intact....you need to replace the CA tank with another CA tank. It is OK to use a CA on any bike - you can just connect the vent line to a rubber hose that drains to the bottom of the bike in case any fuel sloshes out the vent (or you could just cap the vent line if you use your vented fuel cap).
