Voltage readings with stock R/R?
10/11/16 at 02:42:19

Still putting this basket case back together. Wondering what the highest voltage readings people are seeing (at the battery) with a stock Regulator/rectifier.
Using a Lithium battery for the build, and they like to explode or catch fire with too much voltage. Older Suzi-Qs used to go as high as 15.5V with a stock R/R. A bud had his GS400 go up in flames using a stock R/R and a LiIo battery  Tongue
This would be the time to ditch the rascal if the voltage goes that high.
thanks,

In theory, theory and reality are the same. In reality, they aren't...

I've seen mine hit 14.4.  I don't know of any way to find out what the upper limit is.  The manufacturer of the regulator won't talk to anyone but a factory rep. I don't know if Suzuki even knows...I didn't contact them to ask.
