Voltage readings with stock R/R?
10/11/16 at 02:42:19
Still putting this basket case back together. Wondering what the highest voltage readings people are seeing (at the battery) with a stock Regulator/rectifier.
Using a Lithium battery for the build, and they like to explode or catch fire with too much voltage. Older Suzi-Qs used to go as high as 15.5V with a stock R/R. A bud had his GS400 go up in flames using a stock R/R and a LiIo battery
This would be the time to ditch the rascal if the voltage goes that high.
thanks,
-Armen

In theory, theory and reality are the same. In reality, they aren't...

I've seen mine hit 14.4. I don't know of any way to find out what the upper limit is. The manufacturer of the regulator won't talk to anyone but a factory rep. I don't know if Suzuki even knows...I didn't contact them to ask.
