I have recently switched from rotella t6 back to rotella triple protection dino and redline additive. Someone just told me switching from synthetic to conventional can cause an engine knock. Is this true?

Knock is related to spark pre-ignition, and fuel octane rating is upped for that... Our engine is low compression and has no problem with regular gas...
Oil has nuttin' to do with that...

Rotella dino is the shizzzzz... Cool

You can switch back and forth between dino and synthetic without any issues......and you can even buy oils that are a mixture of both in the same bottle (synthetic blends).

And contrary too other folklore....you can even break in an engine using synthetic oil without issues.  Some new cars even come with synthetic in the crankcase right from the factory.

Come to the Café with a Rubber Side Down type question, you can expect a little extra to go along with the serious answer ......

Heck, you can order a side order of silly cole slaw and get a free serving of ribbing to go with it.

Grin   ..... we aims to please !!!

Rotella is most definitely your friend.

And it's delicious with a nice vodka sauce and a glass of red wine.

I ride year round and in the warmer months I use dino and in the winter I use t6.  So far so good  Smiley.

Best regards,

After knowing about T-6 ... Why would you use anything else ?    Lips Sealed

That's kinda like a country that only throws rocks  going to war against another country that uses firearms ...  Roll Eyes      There just ain't no comparison .

i switched back to dino because people said T6 could make your clutch slip.

I call BULL on T-6 and clutch slippage (stock motor).

I've got a brother who had a Honda V-65 with "BIG HP" who had a problem with clutch slippage

but a stock LS-650 is a hole-different  animal
