The fork legs and engine side cases are a lightly polished aluminum with a clear coat (not chrome), and when the clear coat get chipped or cracked moisture gets underneath and corrodes the aluminum.  The black coating could be more durable...only time will tell.

I don't really like the paint or decals on the new model.......I did like the two-tone paint on the previous model.

All that black really accentuates the stock exhaust... (never a good idea)...

Does it still have the rock-hard rear shocks, the 15% error on the speedo, no trip odo, and the funky carb? Thank God (or somebody) for this forum! All can be made right with a little help from our friends.

And who came up with that dumbasss name Boulavard, at least the name Savage has some history to it with Suzuki.

I don't prefer the heavily blacked out look, but IF it is durable, it beats the crappy clear coat that allows the aluminum to metastasize. If the rims hold up and the cosmetics don't go all funk, then, I will have to call it good.
I did like some of the recent color combinations a lot better.
If they can justify These changes, why can't they ditch the chrome trash can and put a decent exhaust on the thing?
I can accept less sexy new for not looking like it's got psoriasis in five years.

With respect Serowbot, Brough Superior and Vincent probably used good quality Chrome plate. Ruttly, the Boulevard name was probably coined for "cool" people.

Corporate said we are going to come up with a common name for our cruiser line, just like Yamaha did with their Star line.
So some person or persons in advertising were assigned the job, and WALLAA ..  We have the B... name.
