I'm not splittin' the case for anything...
I'd tack weld the pulley... DONE!...
Then, ride it like I stole for while, and sell it...
So ashamed,............
Nawww,. really... it'd prolly go 200k and never need attention...

Yeah,welding works, I spose..beats buying the shaft and splitting the engine,, gackk, what a headache.

Ten sleep, just as you would if you were setting your valves ,remove the small plug and use a socket ,rotate the same as your front wheel turns counter clock wise. If the teeth on the shaft are only slightly worn you could try a product called bearing mount,used in placing bearing in rebuilt car motors so as not to spin them ,good stuff! I wouldn't try welding,the pulley is torqued to about 94 ft/lbs I don't know how you could apply that much pressure to the pulley and then weld it,and if you needed to replace the o-ring and seal behind it you are in big trouble.

Thanks for the tips and the procedure to turn the motor over by hand - that will be a big help.
