I keep asking people what the fascination is with 'hardtails' and the answers are all about 'looks'.
Function, not so much!
2" longer shocks give me all the 'looks' I can handle!

Thanks for the info. Got a set of intruder 800 from the same year as my bike. They look identical just longer.

Just a reminder.....the longer shocks won't work with the stock muffler. The axle will hit the side of the muffler before you can lower the swing arm enough to get the shock on.
Also....check the clearance between the bracket at the left front of the swing arm that holds the lower chrome belt cover on. It can hit the countershaft pulley cover where the rear mounting screw for the cover is located. (Makes it nearly impossible to remove the pulley cover as the shock springs are jamming the cover forward).

Dave,
Is there a modification that can be made to the lower chrome belt cover to get enough clearance?

There are 2 lugs on the front of the swingarm that mount the belt covers.
With the longer shocks, the arm drops enough to pinch the pulley cover and makes it hard to remove the pulley cover.
Install the shocks, remove the cover and you'll see a mark on it.
Remove a little of the lower mickey mouse ear till it clears.
Also, check the belt with the pulley cover off. There's a bolt on the case that will rub on the belt. Replace it with a allen button head.

Thanks for the tip on the pulley cover bolt. Don't have a stock muffler so no problem on the axle. She does lean hard with the kick stand down.

You can attach something to make it stand up better, but if it's heavy enough to pull down when you hit a bump it'll make it cut out, maybe backfire unless you bypass the interlock.

As long as the puck is from a Blackhawks game I'd be fine with that.
