I Agree, sure does look wrong.
Just like, a local road contractor, got a bid for sub standard roads in a town, and the people, (elected), that were responsible for that contractor getting the bids, now drive fancy cars, and brag about their ‘vacation to a Hawaii beach front Condo. (Which the Condo, was a ‘friend of a friends’, and was un used, so you might as well use it).

I look at it as, Bravado, vs Outright Lies.
