Posts: 179 Bergen County, New jersey Gender:	Clutch cable metal tab 09/08/16 at 17:18:41 Hey y'all, ya know that tab that you have to bend to get the clutch cable out from the engine side? The one that is attatched to the clutch arm. I think the one on my bike has been bent back and forth from pulling the clutch cover. Is this tab super important? I feel I like she's gonna snap of I bend it one more time. Or should I just break it off?

But, IF you can,then maybe it's important.

Next time I pull the cable, it's comin off. I just didn't know. Does your bike have it? I always check my cable tension so I highly doubt I'll have an issue.

The cable is long enough to allow the cover to twist off to the side and tie wrap it to something. I have never taken the cable off.

The other day we were talking about the need for the locking tab on the cable attachment at the engine.

Today I looked closely at mine. The ferrule on the end of the clutch cable was jammed in the cable slot not nestled in the round portion of the attachment? This was from the factory, or possibly the dealer, since nobody has touched my bike since new. The ferrule was being held in place by the locking tab! It was easy of course to fix. The slot was opened up to allow the ferrule to stay in the wrong place??

Anyway, long story, but I'm glad we were discussing it the other day.
