A challenge........
09/08/16 at 11:00:09

Seems we can wager 50 bucks now  Grin

I would love to see a story where tolerance is exhibited.
Maybe even the description of tolerance.
Is it a universal word, action, or selective?

Who is tolerant?

Not sure what you put a head, up, but I have all the confidence in the world one of our resident wizards of know all will provide an answer....
Heck, I bet, grammartorically speaking, they might even demonstrate it for us.....the ultimate act of tolerance, yes?

You would be absolutely astonished at the number of a**holes I've dealt with during my life. And so far I haven't murdered a single one of them.

p.s. You can pm me and I'll tell you where to send the 50 bucks.

Well I am sorry to say but it gives me great privilege to inform we will not entertain private messages as like our current administration and his chicky-babe in waiting, transparency is our utmost....
I mean almost....
Maybe I mean most the stuff is only about yoga routines, you can sure tell by my fitness, right ( you can pm me that answer however ).
And besides, you'd have to kill me to get the 50 bucks, which would mean you would not be able to say that as a fact, any longer.

So, let me just acknowledge your worthy attempt, loser  Grin

Oh,well. I don't have much luck with lottery tickets either.

Seriously though, "tolerant" is an interesting word. It no longer seems to mean what Webster's thinks it means. "To allow the beliefs, practices, or traits of others."

In political discourse, and in our institutions of higher learning, the word has taken on a Newspeak meaning. "To allow the beliefs, practices or traits of others so long as they don't disagree with ours, or make us feel bad."

Ironically, both definitions can be applied at the same time by the same persons.

Example: It is not "tolerant" to criticize or condemn homosexual activity even if one finds it to be immoral or repugnant, but it is likewise not "tolerant" to criticize a religion whose dogma sanctifies the murder of individuals who engage in such behavior by tossing them off of rooftops. Bizarre as it might seem, some of the same people who hold the first view, are entirely capable of holing the second at the same time.

Do me a favor.....

Can you kneel, while typing out your reply, I want to play the National Anthem, at the same time
It gives it more, uh, meaning, uh, no.....not that, uh, it makes it seem more urgent, dang, I don't think that covers it either....

I know, it makes it more Chicken Little, like.....
The sky must be falling, yes, eureka, that's it, Chicken Littleness   Embarrassed

Edit: BTW, it was indeed Hillary who said is was PATRIOTIC to voice opposition to an administration IF you didn't agree with them or their policies, beliefs.....

I hope she will still hold that opine when she wins.
Excuse me now, I have an appointment to look at a bridge for sale...

I feel qualified to judge what is and isn't patriotic.
And Being patriotic, truly, is almost illegal.
Look at what they do to whistleblowers. People who Show illegal activity.Yeah, okay, in so doing sometimes they break a law or ten. They commit some short term stuff, in order to Stop entrenched, long term, Worse criminal behavior.
If they were able to Trust the system and keep it
In House, they wouldn't be forced to expose them so publicly.
I'm not sure exposure has stopped anything.

The patriot act is a fine example of the state of current affairs..

If two people, decide to have a ‘alternate relationship’.  Which are about 5-7% of the population, so be it. Let them do what they want.  (And MOST  people do).  However when they, (the Alternate Relationship People), DEMAND, that someone, AGREES, with the position they have taken. And the person/s, do NOT agree. They then,  DEMAND, that they DO,  and Sue, and WIN !
Is that, ’Tolerant?

If someone, comes into this Country, in this society, And ‘Cuts Someones Head Off, or throws them from a building, Because it is, ‘accepted’, where they are from.  Is it, ’Tolerant’ ?

It would be, tolerant, if they do that in the Country they are from, because that is, ’their,’ culture.
When they go to a Country, that is NOT, in the, ‘Culture’,  and do the same thing, then say: “ We Will be ALLOWED, to do What We Want”.  Why is it, not, tolerant, to say: ‘You Can’t Do That Here”?

Would it be A lack of tolerance  to say: “I am Not going to do that”,   When a group of people say:  “ You must NOT, eat a certain food. You must NOT, flag a certain flag. You must NOT, Pledge a Allegiance to your Country.  You must NOT, worship any God. You Must use women, ONLY as a receptacle for physical pleasure, (and little boys). You, Must Cut the head off, or Stone, or through off the roof, ANYBODY, that does Not Believe what, ‘I’ believe."

Then, I guess, I am NOT  Tolerant.

Certainly, ’tolerant’, of people wanting to live a, alternate life style.  (So long as they don’t grab at me, when I AM STANDING at a Uriel.)  In that case, I guess I am both.

Certainly, ’tolerant’ of people, (Who are Men, but dress like a Women), and use the Women’s Bathroom.  Do what they have to do. then leave.    NOT at ALL, ’tolerant’ of, being TOLD,   MEN, can go into a  Woman’s Bathroom, (to do ‘other’ things)

And On and On it goes.
So, I guess, I am, ’Tolerant’ in some cases, and  NOT, ’Tolerant’, in others.

Now, where/how,  is the, ’Tolerance’, Level’, decided ?
Is it what, a person was brought up, by the, culture of the place they were brought up in?
Or is it, because, ’someone’,  SAYS,  ‘You Have To Be’ ?

Well I think it all started with old McDonald.....
He had a cow.
He had a goat.
He had a pig, a chicken, a dog, and many other beast.
Not once did he have a wife.....
With a nag, nag here.
A nag, nag, there.
Here a nag, there a nag.
Everywhere a nag, nag......
Finally we can finish this song.
Thanks to Hillary.
I am sure Mac would rather have a goat  Grin
