Replacement of bent right footpeg!
09/06/16 at 08:45:23

Previous owner dropped bike and bent the right footpeg. Can't find anything in the manual on how to change it. Appears to have a pivot pin but the top of the pin is flush with the mounting bracket. How do I remove this pin? Thanks!

The footpeg bolt has an allen head drive that makes the top of the bolt pretty...you have to remove the plastic chrome cap from the top of the bolt, and then you can get an allen wrench on the bolt.

Unless you're really worried about perfection and strength, you can simply bend it with a piece of scrap pipe like I did. That way, when you finally crash enough to break them off and are riding on stubs, you can say you got your money's worth.  Grin Now how would I know that?!?  Grin

After riding for a while on a stub, I finally stuck a cheap ol' harley peg on it.  Wink

It's a Really wimpy design. A rectangular loop of metal. Try to work it out on each side instead of as if it's a central post.
A piece of pipe isn't the best approach. But if that's your skill level, then it's better than nothing.
