Petcock and Diaphragm for Savage (Compatibility)
09/01/16 at 02:58:26

Hello guys, question, I'm rebuilding my bike (Savage 650, 1997), but I need a petcock and the diaphragm.

I've seen that in the case of the petcock, there's some compatibility with a Kawasaki model, I don't remember the model exact, maybe k40 or something.

Anyway, I was wondering if you could me about some compatibility models to choose from in order to find the cheapest one, the petcock is kind of cheap I guess, but can't find the diaphragm.

I'm looking on Ebay by the way.

Thanks!!

Can't find the specs of the diaphragm, that should help!

From this thread:

================
This is the Raptor part no.  5LP-24500-01-00
2003 Yamaha Raptor 660 YFM660R
http://www.ronayers.com/browseparts.cfm?SearchString=5LP-24500-01-00&adv=5&kw...
NOTE... ( all Raptor 660 petcocks fit,... I included a specific model/year for internet ordering, and anal retentive counter salespeople...) (Raptor 350 petcocks won't fit)...
(also note,...the Raptor petcock clears the frame easily, and makes tank removal much less hassle)...
The Raptor is a direct fit replacement,... just remember to cap the vacuum tap on the carb...
=============
P.S.  Do not get the cheap Chinese knockoff Raptor.  Get OEM.

Search ebay for 5LP-24500-01-00

ralfyguy: I got the K+L fuel petcock repair kit at the local dealer.
Part # says FCK-5   GS1150    $23.00. It didn't fix my problem so I'm running it now on prime, with the vacuum line plugged and the vacuum port capped. If I had it to do again I would just get the Raptor and be done with it. Also about $23.00.

I walked into the Yamaha shop. Plunked down close to thirty bucks. Walked out with a Gin Yew Wine Raptor domesticated rooster... And all is well with the world.

Oh by the way, and I don't mean to open a new topic, a manual petcock does need a diaphragm or not? cause I can get one of those.

Get the Raptor. Genuine Yamaha product. You want fuel turn it on, if you don't want fuel turn it off. I put one on my brand new S40 because of previous experience with overly complicated petcocks on other motorcycles. It also makes it much easier to take the fuel tank off.

You won't regret it. No more headaches.  Smiley

Avoid headaches.
Go to the Yamaha shop. Spend another three bucks. No waiting, no worries,
