By the way, other other places on page 42 look pretty good also.

MM, I get blood blisters on my butt just by thinking about trekking all the way just to get to Montana.

Dave's place has shown us we don't have to go so far out to have a good time.   Your farm was a good trip as well.

Bear Tooth Highway....."Well known for it's thunderstorms and high winds, Beartooth Highway has even seen snow storms during the summertime."

What part of that description is appealing to you MM? Huh

The very Name is just appealing. What kinda place is so harsh that bears lose their teeth? Did the wind wobble those lips until they flew out? What happened to the Rest of the bears? Is there a Bear Skulls road? I have Some, limited experience with bear bones existence... but, once the unemployment benefits ran out, I was doing Great!

Heck, I just want to see if we run across any toothless bears. Grin

But a ride over to MM's place sounds good to me also.

Verslagen,

That Indian would be a great hunting machine, but I wish they would put an adequate front fender on it. Little PeeWee fenders just don't do the job.

I can absolutely guarantee that back fender isn't going to do the job either.  Any wet roads and you are going to have water thrown up your backside big time!

Regardless of fender deficiencies, that is one beautiful machine.

Dave,

Not to get too far off of the subject, but have you had any luck with finding a "Fender Extender"?

I "finally" got the fender extender for the NT700.  I am not  a bit impressed with the folks that are the importer for the product.  I bought the item through eBay, and waited for a few weeks before I contacted them, as I had not heard anything from them.  Somehow they misplaced the order.  They took weeks and weeks and a few more weeks to get it to me.  They had to order it from the UK, and evidently it had to come with a box full of other stuff.

The end result was the fender extender for the NT700 didn't come close to working on the Savage....and as bad as they are at Customer Service, I  am pretty sure they wouldn't be very helpful in trying to help us find one that would work on the Savage.

Dave,

That is too bad, I was hoping for a simple solution to keeping the front of the engine and me clean.

I wonder if we could graft a part of another Savage/S40 fender to the existing fender?

Bear tooth might be an August ride .    Surely we have a member in Montana (some where)  Huh .

It would be nice to have an event or two in my neighborhood when ya'll come visiting !  Wink    I'll keep my senors out.

That bike night thing Thursday near Dave's was great , then BBQ Friday in Ohio ,   We don't have much to compete with those two.
We do have live music at some of our restaurants sometimes  , and a bike rally on 9-11 weekend , ... I've just about used-up my trips for this year but we should start on next year soon as winter sets in !  Roll Eyes

I like the way beartooth winds around the mountain in the picture , but --- we need somebody in the area to check it out for  us .   Smiley
