Back in the mid 1700’s in the, ‘way out’ country.
A, Banker, or high level official, held out a hand full of ‘Double Eagles’,
to buy that, hard scrabble ranch at the end of town.
(After a drought, and they were really down on their hard work)
Everyone scratched their head, and said, “Why did he do that, that ranch is worthless”
This was in the day, that someone from that area, had to hitch up their wagon, and drive it 3 days, sleeping on the side of the road, to get their, salt, sugar, coffee, etc. from the nearest rail-head. (6 days total)
THEN, in 2 years, the Railroad, put a Spur into that town. (Over that, ‘worthless', ranch).
Now, it was 1/2 a day, to get those Items.
Gee, how did he know.
Fast forward to 2012. A County Commissioner, bought a farm, in the middle of no where.
Everyone scratched their head, and said, “Why did he do that, that farm is worthless”.
Two years later, it was the end of a, NEW, MAJOR, FREEWAY, coming out of the TC’s.
And he sold part of land to a Very Big, mart-mart, then sold another part to the, COUNTY.
and STILL has many acres left.
Gee, how did he know. ??????
