Exactly what I did, and I'm pretty sure my locksmith used a Yamaha/ilco blank also. Works perfectly. Buy two keys, and tape one down inside your tail light very well and sorta hidden. If ever stranded, you have a secret key you can access with a phillips screwdriver.

Would I just Try to give you a hard time? Me? Naaah..
I'll see if a local has the blanks. If not, I'll get a couple. The hardware store has one of those goosebump inducing key cutting machines. It's like fingernails on the chalkboard to me.

The chart is handy....but it doesn't help me to match the key up.

Here is what I used to get a key blank, and the pictures helped me to sort out which one I needed. If you click on the photo of the key that matches yours....it will automatically plug the code into the order blank. (You don't have to order from them....but it works to match your key shape to the proper code).
