That's cool!

Watching this video reminds me that the thing that got me encouraged to finally buy a bike at 38 years old was after I spent some time in Brazil in 2010 on a mission trip. For two weeks I watched the moto-taxis zoom around and it just entertained me for some reason. I kept telling my fellow travelers that I was going to take a moto-taxi ride for the fun of it and they kept telling me I was CRAZY.  Well, being the usual risk taker of the group I finally had time the morning we were supposed to leave.  I had our translator walk across the street with me to the moto-taxis (our bus was loaded waiting on stragglers) and tell one of them I just wanted a ride around and up the mountain and back.  Everyone was looking and pointing at me as if it was the last time they would see me as i donned the old ratty helmet and jumped on the back and away we went.  We zipped all up and down the streets and had a blast for about 10-15 minutes, and it was well worth the $5!  When I got back and was smiling ear to ear, now everyone wanted to do it, but only one close friend had the opportunity because we had to leave as soon as he got back.

Long story short, when I got home from that trip I told myself I was saving for a motorcycle (I was unemployed at the time) and after selling odds and ends on ebay I saved enough play money and got my Savage about 18 months later and have loved every minute of it.

I think I may have a picture of me riding with the guy...I'll have to try and dig it up.

Stew,

You have to be the bravest guy that I have ever known.

I got hooked when my older brother bought a 1949 Harley 74 with what they termed "Hydraulic Forks". One ride is all that it took.

Those little things can't be just 'lil 49cc mopeds, can they?? Even carrying skinny folks, two people have to be at least... what.... 250 lbs of passenger? And they seem to getty-up and go up those ramps and around those corners. Looks like fun.

Hey...I figured since I just spent two weeks in a foreign country building a church that the good Lord was at least going to keep an eye on me!

At one point I looked, and I think those are little 150cc bikes. I was surprised how well they carried two people.
