No, everyone is well aware of the friction fighting qualities of leaves, damp leaves , and piles of wet leaves with gum balls interspersed amongst the layers. Fliipping ball bearings between sheets of plywood,

From my "off road" days riding in the strip mines in northeastern Ohio......nothing is more slippery than wet leaves on damp packed clay.

It is the naturally occurring,  organic version of the "slip and slide"!

Awesome JOG!  I was hoping things worked out and we would hear some good news sooner than later.

Glad you made it back safe and looking forward to hearing about your wrenching on a bike once again!

Eaux Mugawd,,  that poor thing is Filthy. Road grime from the all but the first fifteen or so miles when it wasn't raining,, and, honestly, it weren't no kinda clean when I got it...
They don't live that close to the coast and not show the quality of the chrome and the clear coat, etc.
The two piece seat is MILES more comfortable.
The buckhorns are just so much better for Calm riding.
The windshield is the difference between heaven and hell on the road.
This bike is comfortable for more miles than it has gas to run.
The belt is not near as squeaky, even wet.
Brakes are So much better.
It might not be as quick OR fast, but beats the 05 I had in every other way.

And, it hit 85 a couple of times, 80 several times and ran sustained 75 up Hwy. 69 for miles, cuz that's the speed limit, so, 75 plus a few, but it didn't use any oil... noperz, nadabit . It was a new oil change, though. And it's only got 2,600ish miles on it.
We shall observe and see what it does.

The OEM tires Thumbnail and Show to be soft enough to grip. The sidewalls are pristine looking.
The ride on wet roads is, nonetheless, a bit exhilarating at times when I was a bit inattentive coming into an exit ramp or merging with a lane. Feeling the temperature of the blood change is spooky. I can't decide if it feels like it's running cold or hot, but it's a total body sensation when you Know that only the exact Right thing Right now will be enough to Not go somewhere you really don't want to go. Feeling it slide sideways a bit is just not okay. The
Dang Near screwed up stuff was within an hour of home.
Wet, tired, coldish,, not bad,but not comfortable. Hands, shoulders, knees aching and tired..
I nearly got a room before those events.
I'm glad I'm not regretting Not getting that room.
