It is the maximum recommended engine speed in the owner's manual.

Where?

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Oh Justin your so critical. My bike has no tach and its tuned quite well I'm going by feel & sound. I know it revs up around 7 pulling beyond that, pulls beyond where I don't feel comfortable taking it. Think I'm going to dump speedo for a tach, trying to get it to the dyno guy but can't get any days off. Had many SR500s that went to 7500 and Yamaha says redline is 7000. I just wanted to undo what Suzuki did to detune this engine, ya know make it breath not build a hot rod,now it's obvious that Suzuki made the Savage a putt putt for women & beginners & short legged old men. But yet the bike attracts us to it. I just let her hair down and hung a set of nuts on her. So she got to meet dr. dyno and then a date with 1320 ft of drag strip. Don't know what I did other than throw money at it, but she rocks, I only hope I can reproduce the outcome on my next Savage !
