I had a Xena disc alarm on my scooter.  Hardly ever used it though.

I live on a hill. All you'd have to do is roll out my driveway and down to a pickup truck with a ramp and you'd be gone in less than a minute, silently. So, I got this lock. It's supposedly more waterproof than typical padlocks. Cost was approx $15 IIRC.

The lock looks like it would do a good job of slowing them down.  If you have to park the bike outside, and it is visible from the street....anything you can do to make it more difficult will help.

If they manage to get past this lock then they deserve the bike!

These locks are particularly hazardous if you forget to remove them before you try to take off.
Try to lock it so you can't roll it a long way before it stops.

I bet it only takes a couple of times trying ride off with the lock attached.....then after that you will remember!

It could be that removing the lock after you get the cover off is just part of the normal routine pf getting ready to ride.

A lot of disc locks come with a stretchy cord that runs from the lock to the handlebar, just to remind you to take the lock off. I ride with just the ignition key and a key fob on the ignition. A few other keys (house, work, disc lock) live on a carabiner clipped to the bike key. My routine is not riding the bike with any but the ignition key in the lock. So, pull my keys out, see the carabiner and be reminded to take the lock off. Then the keys get hung on the lock and packed away. Works for me. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Disc locks are  a great frontline deterrent. Couple bikes at my work have been saved lately from thieves obseved loading locked bikes into utes, while a few unlocked ones have been ridden away.

Mine stays in a locked garage behind my cars so you can't get out. My killer, vicious watchdog would watch you steal it. Well...if she happened to wake up first!

Same. I have a scary looking staffordshire bull terrier/ ridgeback cross. Mine's actually protective though, so serves it's purpose. But how about out on the street? The disc lock is good there, and easier to carry around than a staffy  Wink.

dumping 710 on the ground is probably not E4 compliant.
