porblems starting
06/16/16 at 14:08:26

I went to replace my battery and mistakenly connected the negative first, and then while connecting the positive, I touched the both the positive and grounded it out for a second  and now my bike will not start. I checked the battery and it is still good.  where should I start

fuses, fuses, fuses!  That's what they are there for, and hopefully burned out and protected the rest of your system.

Lucky there are fuses you could have had a meltdown and that gets ugly and costly very quick . Now go replace your fuses. Alway tape up one of the battery cables when changing battery so you don't have a sparky sparky encounter !

Always, every time , disconnect the negative first and connect it last.
For now, check fuses. If they are good, make sure that the battery cables are actually right.
Check the kill switch.

I crossed the wires on a '69 Mustang once. Both cables were black. All the fuses were still good but the cables got so hot that the insulation was smoking. If your fuses check out then you might want to look at the cables.
