Two cone air filters?
06/13/16 at 09:59:45

Hey guys I am working on rounding up all my parts I need to remove the stock air box and replace with a cone style pod filter. I am wanting to put a 90 either straight on the carb or on the end of the existing rubber boot but I was wondering if anybody has ever put a a rubber tee on and put an air filter out both sides?

This setup doesn't give an easy button to go from 1 to 2.
And the bike is completely different than stock.

Ok so once I go with the dual air filters and also changing my exhaust I know I'm most likely going to have to re-jet but are there any other internals that should be replaced?

welcme! If your doing mods on the intake and exhaust I would start with the latter .Pick the muffler you like and jet your carb to it.If it doesn't run well you know it can only be that you haven't arrived at the proper jetting. The intake length is a move for better efficiency of the charge entering the cylinder (do a search for TUNEING YOUR INTAKE)to get a grasp of what this involves, but you may not have to rejet for this mod.

Thanks! I'm really enjoying being part of this forum! I've learned more here than anywhere else   Grin and thanks for the tip and I've actually made my own exhaust looking around on here at some of the ideas you guys have. I'll post some pics of the progress and see what y'all think. Any comments or criticism is appreciated haha because I'm just about as green as they come when it comes to motorcycles but I'm LOVING it so far!!

I've learned more here than anywhere else

And that's only reasonable, since the combined knowledge of the forum adds up to almost 2.8 Billion years.  Plus or minus 10%,

let's see... 7,000 current members... about 2,000 with more than 10 posts.
While some of us bring a lot of experience to the board, most bring none...
So I'm gonna say 10 years experience is about average...
2,000x10 years = 20,000... I wonder what that is in metric   Huh

How are they able to know so exactly how old it is?

Well, it was 1,500 years old when I came here ten years ago.

Ok so I've read tuneing your intake and it pains me to say this but the info is Wayyy over my head. I plan on re jetting after I change the exhaust over, so after that I plan on changing my intake and putting a tee on the existing rubber boot off the carb and putting a cone pod filter on each side. After all that should I take the bike and have it dynoed or something of that nature?? All the graphs and info has got me kind of jumbled Undecided

This forum is truly special , if we can't figure it out it can't be fixed , but that will never happen cause collectively we can fix it . Where there is a will there is a way !

Yes, that's mandatory or you're fired! You have to satisfy our curiosity.

Yes dyno & post your results. When I finish my final tune mine will have a date with the dyno too.
