Super uncomfortable seat

Hokay I seem to be spending a lot of time stressing my tailbone. I've got an '03 Savage and I'm 5'10".

I plan on doing the rubber-under-the-front-of-the-seat mod, but what I think I need, is to take out some of the foam at the rear of the seat so I can slide back a bit and so it's not scooped up at the back and pressing on my tail bone.

Has anybody tried this?

I'm just 5'6" and I used to have to scoot back and sit up on the high spot.
If you don't haul anyone on the back, maybe you'd be ahead to ditch the seat and put a saddle on there. Maybe Paladin could post a picture of his setup. Daggum Barcolounger with wheels.
Or, there is the forward controls modification,, let those knees unwind some.

Boogers,

Some where on the forum is a simple mod to take the pressure off of your tailbone.

It worked for me.

Look for the square cutout at the back end of the seat

Thanks guys Ima do that tomorrow. Something I might mention, I'm no engineer, but you *might* get some cracking of the plastic with time here. You can get "stress risers" if the edges aren't rounded over or if the corners are cut square instead of round. I would run a bit of heated metal over the edges of the plastic to round them over so they can flex without cracking. You know like a piece of metal will crack if you bend it enough esp. if the edge has a nick in it, it will crack at the nick. But round it over and it will flex longer before it cracks.

Boogers,,

I drilled the corners with a step drill, because a step drill does not "walk".

I used a scoring tool to make the cuts, the tool that I used is commonly used to score plastic laminate or ceramic tile.

The white plastic may be nylon because the piece that I removed would bend without breaking.

While you're under the seat cover put 1 1/2" of memory foam from a pillow or mattress topper ON TOP of the original foam. It works. hth

In case anybody's interested, I did the mod as described, then did it again and took even more of the pan material out, my particular tailbone  seems to need it.  Roll Eyes

I hesitate to use
Memory Foam.
I'm afraid it not only has a memory, but is vindictive, and will sneak up and strangle me in my sleep for farting in it.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. All serious thumpers know that 1" of memory foam has a AAA rating for fart sound mitigation based on the 2013 trials carried out in Taco Bell's secret facility in New Jersey. Boofer Grin

Ohh, but you don't get the point.
What concerns me is the Memory foam will be offended by the things I do and get even with me for it.
