Yep:

Some folks have moved the battery down to a box they built on the top of the mount for the muffler.  It is on the section in front of the tire.

I built my own box in my build, and used an Earth-X LiIon battery what is much lighter and smaller (and more expensive) than the stock battery.

Go to the Bike Builds section in the RSD and look around to see what others have done.
