an interesting side note -

as I hunt for used S40 LS650 Savage's there's an interesting price trend, they average around here at $2500 or less, these are very low mileage and late-models. The MARKET sets the price no matter what the stealership or factory or KBB or NADA place the value at.

It's the new-rider who's uninitiated that gets suckered and saddled with the MSRP mark-up ... only to be had again when they trade-up and the MARKET only pays $2500 or less for that danged brand spanking shiny new low mileage bike.

It's kinda' like buying a computer....how many folks would ever dream of buying a used computer off Craigslist?

Motorcycles are somewhat similar - some folks have no idea that they can buy a reliable, trustworthy motorcycle form a person.  And the ones who have no mechanical ability want a dealership to help them when they need something worked on.
