Exhaust header pipes

Does everyone use the stock chrome header pipe ? Or does somebody make aftermarket header pipes for the savage ? Besides what Ryca sells .

not quite sure
, as I didn't research too deep when I was hunting alternative shorty exhausts, but I think the Suzuki DR650SE header is the same as the Savage LS650 S40 ...
You could check out FMF ... but again,
not quite sure

I sliced mine up and removed the inner pipe and had a guy TIG it together. Not sure if it helped or hurt. If you go with that, be careful about how you slice it up. You want to create a Puzzle that readily assembles the way it was assembled, so the thing is all pointed the same way.

I got a 1.75" OD header from Super Thumper that I covered with Heat Wrap. May not be as pretty as chrome, but highly functional ...

the DR650SE has a BUNCH of bends in it, I was thinking like a welder/fabricator ... chop cut rebuild welder up ...
I "think" the flange and clamp might work, need the ID/OD measurements and the bolt C/L measurements ...
or chop your OEM off and weld up to your crazy straw exhaust ...
OR fab up one of these -

I bought a system on fleabay with a 2" o.d. header and a long muffler but it has no markings or numbers on it. Cut the muffler to fit the tracker I'm building rebuilt the baffle & packed it with fiber glass matting , had it bead blasted and then painted it flat black. Turned out pretty good , looks great !
I was just wondering what others are using and what is available for my next project. Going to build another savage after I finish couple other bikes.

Doesn't Raask make a header for this engine?
